OUR HALF-HOLIDAY
(To the Editor). Sir, I read with much amazement the doings of our local Chamber of “Comics” (pardon, Commerce), and I note the members were all in favour of a universal half-day, w T hich must be Saturday as all the big centres would vote Saturday. Now, Sir, what I would like to know is, what was all thjs bickering and back-biting about a few days ago? It seems to me the whole population does not know what it wants. We want Wednesday; Wednesday is given; and now we want Saturday, and are going to the extent of going to Parliament for it. No, Sir, one half of the population is mad and the other hal fis going mad. Why has our local “parliament” twisted so soon? —I am, etc., JAMES G. GOWER. Waipukurau.
