KITCHEN TEA
MRS RAYMOND ENTERTAINS NURSE PEACOCK HONOURED A most enjoyable kitchen tea was given by Mrs C. Raymond at her home on Friday afternoon, in honour of Nurse Peacock, who has built an attractive cottage in Holy rood Terrace, where she takes up her residence early in the New Year, after many years of nursing. Two clever ami amusing competitions had been arranged, Mrs H. Hooper and Mrs J. Winlove being the winners. Many of the younger ones played tennis, and those not wishing to do either wore glad to chat with friends. After a delicious afternoon tea had been served ,the guests gathered on the lawn to watch the opening of the many parcels by the Misses Peacock. Miss Peacock thanked Mrs Raymond for the enjoyable party and all present for their gifts. Mrs Raymond received her many guests, wearing a becoming gown of dark red and white floral georgette, with prettily draped sleeves. She was assisted by her young daughter Cherry, wearing white spun silk. Miss Peacock was wearing a navy blue georgette ensemble and Miss Hilda Peacock black georgette and beige hat, the beautiful 1 bouquets they were presented with on arrival lending colour to their ensembles.
