Coaes to-day remarked that it appeared from the returns available that the Australian • people had given a complete answer to the so-called monetary “cranks” who had been putting forward “quack” remedies.

inent to meet the position. It was too early yet to discuss the effect the election would have pn the question of the imporation of Ausralian fruit into New Zealand.
