Crawford Beaten IN THREE SETS MISS ROUND’S VICTORY By Telegraph—Copyright—Press Assn, LONDON, July 7. Before packed stands and under a hot sun, F. J. Perry (England) yesterday defeated J. H. Crawford (Australia), the holder of the title, 6/3, 6/0, 7/5 in the final of the men’s singles at Wimbledon, thus becoming the first British player to win the event since 1910. Miss D. Round won the other singles title for Britain to-day when she gained a , surprise but well-merited victory over Miss H. Jacobs (U.S.A.), 6/2, 5/7, 6/3. Against Perry, Crawford won the first game on service and led 3/1. Perry then won 12 successive games. Crawford was unsteady in the latter half of the first set, double-faulted, and outed easy shots.
