TWO OUTRAGES

MEN BRUTALLY ATTACKED

EMPLOYEE TRUE TO TRUST By Telegraph—Copyright—Press Assn SYDNEY, Saturday. Bandits committed two outrages in Sydney last night. At Marrickville, Alfred Reid, aged 20, an employee of a dairy, was attacked while asleep at his employer’s residence. His face was battered and his arms twisted in an endeavour to force him to disclose where the weekend takings were hidden, Reid refused to speak and the intruders succeeded in obtaining only £4 from a cash-box. Alfred Edwards, an employee of the Randwick Military Hospital, after spending the afternoon in the city, met two men who -offered to drive him home. The car sped in the opposite direction, however, and Edwards was battered until he was unconscious and hurled into scrub. He was later admitted to hospital with head and face wounds and, a fractured jaw. He was robbed of the few shillings he had with him.
