CHURCH BAZAAR.

HELD AT WAIPAWA

A PRESBYTERIAN EVENT

Despite adverse weather conditions on Tuesday, the Concert Hall, Waipawa, was well filled both afternoon and evening with purchasers at the Presbyterian bazaar. The stalls all presented a ,gay and attractive appearance, while a particularly dainty afternoon tea was served by the ladies of St. John’s Church.

Those in charge of the stalls were /as follow: —Produce, Mesdames Wylie, McSweeney and Frazer; sweets, Misses Pattison, Hill and B. Kingston; fancy, Mesdames Pepperill and F. R. Furminger; flowers and potplants, Mrs. Noel; jumble, Mesdames Corskie and Sawyer; cakes, Mesdames S. E. Bond, E. Bond and Mclntosh; plain sewing, Mesdames J. Bibby, J. Lockhart, McPherson and Egglestone; bran tub, Mrs. R. Cairn. The ladies in charge of the afternoon tea and supper were Mesdames S. W. Strang, W. Yates, C. Yates and Miss M. McLeary. In the evening a short musical programme was presented and thoroughly enjoyed by all in the hall. Items rendered were:—Pianoforte solo, Miss B. Kingston; skipping dance, Miss M. Preston; song, Miss I. Rust; song and dance, Mr. L. Liddell; two glees by the choir; recitation, Miss Nellie Noell; song, Miss G. Grenside.

At the conclusion of the programme the Rev. F. W. Robertson, in a few words, expressed appreciation at the large number present at ;he function.
