(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON/ This Day. Giving evidence before the Native A "fairs Commission to-day Judge J. W. Brcwne, president of the Aotea District Maori Land Board, stressed the desirability, of the retention of
land boards and pointed out the possible ill-effects of centralisation, in the handling of Native affairs. He emphasised that the time had been most opportune for inaugurating development schemes, which were ’.he first practical attempts to enable .the Maoris to become self-supporting and self-respecting people.
