MUNICIPAL THEATRE
WILLIAM POWELL AND KAY FRANCIS “ONE WAY PASSAGE” This interesting drama has a rather unusual story, which is very well tolcL Dan, who is wanted for murder, meets, Joan, a girl who is suffering from heart, trouble, aboard a lined bound for San< Francisco. They are mutually attracted, and both makeup their minds to make the most of their time, each, concealing their secret. During the voyage Dan has many opportunities of making his escape, but his love for, Joan is too strong. At the end of the, trip they plan to meet in New York on. New Year’s Eve, but Joan learns from the steward that this will never be, as Dan is under arrest. Hiding her knowledge from Dan, she bravely bids him good-bye, cheerful to the last. WilPowell gives a restrained and sen-, sitive performance as Dan. Kay Fran-, cis is charming and natural as Joan.i Frank McHugh is exceedingly funny as. a bibulous crook, while Aline MacMahon supplies a clever character, study. Warren Hymer is good as detective.
