OTANE NEWS
ENJOYABLE CONCERT. (From our own Correspondent) A most enjoyable concert was staged in the Town Hall on Wednesday night by the Hastings Expression Circle, under the leadership of Mr Starkey. There was a bumper house present and the fund of the Otane Dental Clinic and Basketball club ■will benefit materially by the performance. At the conclusion of the concert a social dance was held , everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves. During the evening Mr A. E. Black, chairman of the local school committee returned thanks to the performers for the very excellent programme, and congratulated the Circle on their expression of goodwill Women’s Institute. At. the monthly meeting of the Women’s Institute held to-day (Friday), the principal feature was an address by Miss Wilson, of Waipukurau, on Egypt. Art Circle. The Art Circle of the W.EA. held its weekly session at the residence of Mr R. H. Tod this week, the subject being the* play "Socrates” t■ , .
