Foresters Meet. The usual bi-monthly meeting of Court Ruahine, A.0.F., was held in the Masonic Hall last evening. Social activities for the coming winter were discussed and it was decided to again meet the Oddfellows in a scries of card tourneys. Saturday’s Football. The number of motor accidents duo \o collision with power poles was referred to by Mr A. C. Holms at the meeting of the Central Hawke’s Bay Power Board this morning. Mr Holms urged that any obtruding poles in the board's area, which might be dangerous, should be painted white. The matter was left in the hands of Air Holms, the secretary-manager and the engineer. Electric Shock. An Accident in which a Waipukurau lady received a rather severe shock from a washing machine was referred to at the meeting of the Central rfawke ; s Bay Electric Power Board this morning by the engineer (Air J. K. Lee), who said that the cause appeared to be a faulty connection. If a washing machine were properly installed and not subsequently interferred with there was no danger whatever. Tn reply to Mr F. J. Witherow, Air Loe said that it was not necessary for the board or its officials to be notified when such a machine was installed and that the board was in no way responsible.

The total number of years’ service of the 24 delegates was 379, thus making an average of ..pproximately 16 years’ service for each. Captain W. Gates, of Greytown, had the distinction of holding the longest record of service, his period being 33 years. Other delegates present with over ten years of service were: Supt. R. Among those present was Fireman Hector Braggins (22 vears service), a member of a Masterton family with 168 years to its credit.
