EXPORTS SHOW HIGHER RATIO MORE FAVOURABLE (Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, Last Night. Recorded values of the oversea trade of New Zealand for Mai ch, 1933, were: Exports from New Zealand, £5,396,273: imports into New Zealand £1,888,809. The respective figures for March, 1932, were: Exports £3,682,468; imports £1,872,039. For the three months ended March, 1933, the totals recorded were: Exports, £13,343,982; imports £5,574,637; three months ended March, 1932, exports £11,499,601, imports £5,849,283; for the 12 months ended March 1933, exports £38,810,161, imports £22,770,460; for the 12 months ended March 1932, exports £34,496,211, imports £23,165,522. Values recorded for exports are declared f.o.b. values in terms of New Zealand currency, while values recorded for imports are current domestic values in the countries of export, plus 10 per cent. If the recorded value of imports is converted to the equivalent in New Zealand currency, the excess of exports over imports (excluding specie imported or exported) for the financial year 1932-33 is about £12,450,000, compared with £9,182,000 of the previous year.
