Mr and Mrs F. A. G. Dunn arc on a brief visit to Wellington. Mr J. Lyons, Hastings, is the guest of Mrs Sommcrville, Porangahau road. Mrs T. Talbot left Waipawa yesterday on a visit to Hamilton. Mr and Mrs Ryan, Taihape, arc the guests of Mr and Mrs L. G. Harker. Mrs T. Talbot, Waipawa, left on Tuesday on a visit to Hamilton. Miss E. Byford has been spending Easter among friends in Waipukurau. Miss Nancy Pickney has boon spending Easter with Mrs Gerald Wilson, Onga Onga. Mr and Mrs J. Todd, of Wanganui, were the guests of Mr and Mrs J. I). Todd, Mt. Herbert, during Easter. Mrs J. G. Clarkson, who has been visiting relatives in Oamaru, has returned to Waipukurau. Mr and Mrs J. C. Johnston spent the Easter holidays in Wellington and Masterton. Mr and Mrs Lattimore, of Morrinsville, are staying with Mrs W. Wilson, Hatuma. Mrs Jamerson and Mr Jack Foot spent the Easter holidays with Mr and Mrs A. F. Foot, of the Bank of New Zealand. Mr and Mrs A. King and the Misses King, Waipawa, left by the mail train yesterday for Wellington en route to England. The friends of Miss Aurelia Hobson, Hatuma, will learn with regret that she recently underwent a serious operation at Hamilton. Mr and Mrs Lovelock have returned to Pahiatua after spending a few days with the latter’s parents, Mr and Mrs H. Hole, Hatuma. Mr and Mrs A. L. Warburton, of Wellington, are visiting Waipawa and are staying with Mr and Mrs W. H. Rathbone.

Mr A. E. dull, M.P., President of the N.Z. Counties’ Association, left for Wellington this afternoon to attend a meeting of the executive of the association. Mr D. Bevan, of the "Dominion” staff, and Mrs Bevan, are spending a short holiday at the home’ of Mrs Bevan’s parents, Mr and Mrs J. Lawther, Hatuma. Mr and Mrs G. Byford, Napier, accompanied by the latter’s sister, Miss Bromell, have been spending Easter I with Mr and Mrs Bromell, " Sunny Bank,” Waipukurau. Mrs J. W. Harding, accompanied by Miss Fanny Pattison, motorec? to Wanganui and Marton for the Wanganui Boys’ College and Nga Tawa girls’ School Easter festivities. Mr and Mrs Hole, Hatuma, have received word that their son Allan, of the R.A.F., who has been stationed in Palestine,, has successfully undergone an operation for appendicitis in England where ho has been spending his furlough. During his recent visit to Waipukurau District Commissioner J. R. Cooksey handed to the chairman of tho’local troop of Boy Scouts a warrant (additional to others mentioned in the "Press” yesterday) for presentation, to Miss Cynthia Chisholm, viz., that of an assistant cub-mistress. In connection with the visit paid to the Waipukurau troop of Boy Scouts by the Hawke’s Bay District Commissioner (Mr J. R. Cooksey) much credit is due to Mrs C. Haswell, for her service as "camp mother” in superintending the supper arrangements. Mrs R. McLean was also associated in the catering details of .what proved a; memorable reunion. A number of ykiipawa residents visited Auckland over the Easter weekend. Among them' were Mr and Mrs Guthrie, who motored there and back again and< had <a very/,enjoyable trip. A party of six young men left on Thursday night by. car, driven: by Mr lan Harvey, and made a tour of Taupo, Rotorua, Auckland and the Waitnmo.caves, returning to Waipawa on Monday night after; a most interesting and enjoyable trip. ‘
