OXFORD BEATS CAMBRIDGE. INTER-VARSITY CONTEST. LONDON, March 18. At athletics Oxford beat Cambridge by 8 to 3. The American, Stanwood, was the first Oxonian to win three times in an afternoon — namely, the 120 hurdles, high jump and 220 low hurdles. The New Zealander Lovelock won the mile. His time was 4 min. 18 secs. Sutermeister (Cambridge) won the pole vault with 12ft. 7ins., an English record.
