WOOL MARKET

The Wellington Sale SUPERIOR CROSSBRED FIRM OTHER LINES SLIGHTLY LOWER (Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, Last Night. At the fourth Wellington wool sale superior crossbreds generally sold at pricers fully firm on February rates. Medium and coarse crossbreds declined a farthing, and inferior sorts were <t full half-penny lower. The total offering. about 19,000 bales, was a comparatively small one, being 11,000 bales the limit set by the New Zealand Wool Committee and 6000 bales less than the offering at the corresponding sale last season. The quality of the wool was not outstanding. The offering largely comprised medium top-making crossbreds. There was a full bench of buyers, representing every section of the trade and including a strong Japanese contingent. Bidding at times was inclined to drag. About 90 per cent .of the offering was sold.
