! z <4? IN BRITISH INDUSTRIES THE FEBRUARY FIGURES British Official Wireless Service RUGBY, March 7. Improvement in industries is the explanation for the better figures relating to unemployment, the total of which was reduced during February by 46,437. An improvement in employment occurred in the building, public works, contracting, woollen and worsted, iron and steel and general engineering industries, in boot and shoe manufacture, and in shipping services. There was a slight decline in coal mining and certain other industries. It is estimated that 55,000 more persons were employed in February than in the previous month.
