IN NEW SOUTH WALES FURTHER HEAVY DOWNPOUR SYDNEY. Last Night. A further downpour drenched the Metropolitan area, last night and more rain and thunderstorms are expected to-day. The temperature yesterday reached 94.4 degrees and the humidity was 8G at 8 o’clock in the evening. MELBOURNE STREETS FLOODED MELBOURNE, Last Night. A rain storm burst on the city late yesterday and the streets wore flooded to a depth of two feet in low-lying parts. Lightning dislocated tho elec trie systems of half a dozen suburban areas. J . „ QUEENSLAND RIVERS RISING BRISBANE, January 26... The Ward and Langlo rivers arc rising rapidly. Sheep have been removed from all river frontages and low-lying country. The rain commenced last night. There is an old but true saying— A man that doesn’t advertise is like a man winking in the dark. He knows what he’s doing but no one else does.
