THE CONCLUDING GAMES
FINAL WON BY NAPIER CLUB The pairs tournament, conducted by the Napier and Wairere Clubs, was concluded yesterday in beautiful weather. The final was played bid ween Sissons and Wardell-Johnson (Napier Club) and Harris and Evans (Kia Toa) and after a. very spirited contest was won by the former pair. At the close of play Mr W. I.yd ford, on behalf of the Napier and Wairere Clubs, congratulated both teams upon their scccess and the high standard of play exhibited. Cheers for the winners and runners-up concluded the proceed-
ings. The. results of yesterday’s games were as folow:— TENTH ROUND Wardell-Johnson and Sissons (Napier Club) 21; Bissell and Burge (Kia Toa) 16.
Engebretsen and Stephenson (Gisborne) 24; F. Pirie and Downer (Manawatu) 11. Evans and Harris (Kia. Toa) 23; Crombie and Ross (Havelock North) 11.
SEMI-FINAL Wardell-Johnson 26; Engebretsen 11 Evans, a bye.
