The latest state of the Irish parties when the counting stopped was: De Valera 19 Cosgrave 7 Independent 4 Labour 1 Mr de Valera headed the Clare poll with an increased majority of GOOD. Mr Lcmass is elected for Dublin City South. Mr Cosgrave at Cork polled 4000 fewer -votes than at last election. PRO-TREATY REVERSE LONDON, Last Night. As the Irish results only began to bo announced at midnight there is no press comment in London, hut headlines show what is regarded as a setback for pro-Treaty parties. Some Dublin reports already forecast a dear de Valera majority. “The Mail’s” Dublin correspondent says that the first results suggest that the Cograveites have suffered from the activities of the new Centro Party. So far none of the latter have boon elected. “The News Chronicle’s” .Dublin correspondent says that the unofficial turns of the first preference votes indicate a clear overall majority for Mr do Valera.
