TOURIST TRAFFIC
INCREASED OF LATE MANY AUSTRALIAN? TN N.Z. “That so many Australians are at present in the Dominion can be taken as an indication that the Australians are spending money.” said Mr. S. W. Al. Stiffing, New Zealand representative of the Australian National Travel Association, yesterday. During the last month or six weeks, lie said, more tourists iiad arrived in the Dominion than during the past five years. Tie stated that he saw Mr. L. J. Schmit, New Zealand Government representative, in Sydney, and that officer assured him that he was taking Vlhph a day from Australian tourists to New Zealand. During October. November, and December there had been an increase of 25 per cent, in New Zealand tourists to'Australia compared with the corresponding period for 1931.
