Miss Majory Missen, of Wanganui, is spending a few days in Waipukurau. Mr W. J. Phillips, of the Waipukurau District High School staff, is spending his holiday vacation in Napier. Mr M. Grcnsidc, of Wellington, is at present spending a holiday in Waipawa as the guest of Mr and Mrs L. Grenside. Mr Ivon V. Wilson, chairman of directors of the North Island Motor Union Mutual Insurance Company from its inception in 1928, has been appointed general manager. Mrs G. E. Fowler returned to Waipukurau yesterday afternoon from a visit to Christchurch occasioned by the serious illness of her mother whose condition has improved somewhat. Mr Geo. Mullinder, of Otane, is undergoing treatment in the Waipukurau Public Hospital as the result of internal injuries caused by a fall from a hay-stack at the beginning »f the Week. Mr Harry Dick, formerly of the Te Kuiti branch of the Bank of New Zealand, prior to liis departure for Takapau, was the recipient of a case of pipes from personal friends and staff of the bank. Much sympathy will be felt for Mr and Mrs W. B. Ferguson, of Pukeora, who sustained a .sad loss in the death of their little daughter, Dorothy Isabel, aged seven years and nine months, which occurred this morning. The funeral takes place, on Saturday at 2 p.m.
