FINE CONDITIONS Following is f‘he Government mefom ologist’s weather report and fore cast, issued last night: — An intense anti-cyclone covers New Zealand and the Tasman Sea. Winds light to moderate and variable; south-westerlies predominating over the North Island, and west to north-west over the south. Smooth to moderate seas in/ New Zealand waters; southerly swell decreasing. Light to moderate and variable winds in eastern Tasman Sea, with south west to northwest prevailing; a considerable southerly swell, but decreasing. Some scattered showers about Foveaux Strait, and later in Westland. Otherwise fine; cool night and mild day temperatures.
