„ COLD NIGHTS The following is the weather fore cast for 24 nours from 9 a.in. this day and issued at noon: — The indications are for variable and moderate breezes, southerly moderate prevailing. There is a prospect of fine weather, days bright and nights cold. The barometer shows little movement. FINE CONDITIONS Following is the Government meteor ologist’s weather report and forecast, issued last night:— An extensive anti-cyclone is now moving on to the Dominion. Winds south-westerly, moderate to fresh, but decreasing. Still a considerable southerly swell in New Zealand waters, but moderating. Moderate southerly winds in eastern Tasman Sea; seas rough, but decreasing.

Weather fine generally, but a few isolated showers at first, especially on the East Coast, and in the far north and south. Cold to-night with some severe frosts but becoming milder from to-morrow. 1
