NEW TENNIS CUP
LADY BLEDISLOE’S GIFT
FOR CHAMPIONSHIP. SINGLES
WELLINGTON, Last Night.
It was announced at the general meeting of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association to-night that Lady Bledisloe had presented a handsome silver cup for the New Zealand ladies’ championship singles. Mr. M. E. Denniston, chairman of the management committee, said the cup would take the place of the present trophy now held together partly with lead and solder. The new cup would bear the name of all the previous winners.
f The meeting adopted the committees annual report, at the same time f approving of the postponement of the Junior hard court championships The Wellington Association, the report said, had been approached regarding Me holding of the New Zealand championships tournament, but the .question of dates had not yet been considered.
