PENNY POSTAGE
TO BE REVERTED TO ! AS FROM JUNE FIRST REDUCTION OF COSTS THE GOVERNMENT’S POLICY (Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Postmaster - General stated to-day that the Government in pursuance of its policy of reducing costs, had decided to revert to the system of universal penny postage, as from June Ist.
The necessary details would be made known to the public in the course of a few days, but generally speaking it could be stated that the rates in vogue prior to March Ist, 1931, with slight exceptions, would he reverted to.
