To-day’s Webber Forecast
HEAVY RAIN EXPECTED The following is the weather fore east for 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day and issued at noon: — The indications are for southerly winds, moderate to strong, freshening. Expect dull weather, with much mist and fog in parts. Heavy rain is to be expected with cold temperatures. The barometer is unsteady, but soon rising slowly. UNSETTLED CONDITIONS Following is Lhe Government metenx ologist’s weather report and fore cast, issued last night: — The recent anti-cyclone has passed away eastward, and a vigorous depression is moving rapidly toward the Dominion, its centre at present being located, west of the Auckland Peninsula. Winds moderate to strong north-east-erlies to northerlies, reaching gale force in places. Changing to southerlies soon in the South Island and generally during to-morrow. Seas becoming rough generally. Strong northerly winds to gale, backing soon to equally strong southerlies in the eastern Tasman Sea; seas rough to heavy. Weather unsettled, cloudy and misty, with general rain ■ and many heavy falls likely. Snow on tho high country. Temperatures becoming much colder.
