SUSPICIOUS FIRE
EXPLOSION OF DETONATORS WRECKS A BUILDING By Telegraph—Copyright—Press Assn SYDNEY, Last Night.
Suspicious circumstances are associated with, a fire at Armidalo this morning, which reached the stock of explosives in Braund and Company’s stores. The resultant explosion ■ wrecked the building, killing a fireman named Jones, and injured two others scr.c’isjy ami several slightly. A motor-car without lights was seen leaving the scene before the discovery of the lire. Detectives arc investigating.
The iron store, in which tho explosion occurred, was detached from the main store premises, which were gutted by fire only three weeks ago, causing damage estimated at £20,000. Tho windows in every building near by were mashed and dwellings were rocked. At least 5000 detonators ex ploded.
