AUSTRALIA v. CUBA SECOND SINGLES AIATCIIES May 15. Hopman defeated Morales, 6 —2, (>—2. 6—4. There was a considerable amount of erratic tennis on the part of both players interspersed with brilliant placements and volleys displayed in the course of Hopman’s straight set victory. The match featured faulting, Hopman registering 19 and Morales 20. In the last set Morales double-faulted six times and Hopman four. Sproule, substituting for Crawford, who is suffering from a slight attack of asthma, had little difficulty in defeating A r olmcr 6 —l, 6 —l, 6—4.
