Mrs D. M. Graham, Masterton, is spending a holiday in Hawke’s Bay. Mrs F. W. Robertson, of Waipawa, is at present on a visit to Eltham. Mr and Mrs E. H. Leo have returned to their home in Waipawa after a vigit to Morrinsville. Miss J. Sigley and V. Rcucke, of Raetihi, were the guests of Mr and Mrs R. H. Moss, of Porangahau, during tho week. Mr J. P. Kenny, of Napier, widely known as secretary to the Napier Harbour Board, spent the week-end in Waipukurau as the guest of Mr and Mrs G. E. Fowler. Mr H. C. Nocdl, a well-known local resident and former railway official who has been under treatment in tho Waipukurau Public- Hospital for a fairly lengthy period is making steady progress towards recovery. The judge of the Tikokino Sheep Dog Trial is Mr J. Hunter, who is widely known as a Taranaki Rugby five-eighth who played in the first AR Black team which visited the Old Country in 1905. Mr Charlie Chaplin was accorded a tremendous reception at the Tokio station. Mr S. Pascall, president, of the Rotary International, arrived in Wellington yesterday morning from the south, accompanied by Mrs Pascall and Miss Pascall. At 12 noon to-day in the Council Chamber, the Deputy-Mayor. Councillor W. H. Bennett, tendered Mr Pascall. a civic reception, after which Mr Pascall visited the botanical gardens and planted a tree.
