£25 PINE FOR DRUNKENNESS MAGISTRATE’S COMMENT MARTON, Saturday. In the Marton Police Court to-day, a farmer, Duncan Frederick was fined £25 on a charge of being found drunk in charge of his car.

“On account of accused’s weakness for drinking,” said Constable Thompson, “he had five previous convictions against him, one being for drunkenness in charge of a car, and another' for dangerous driving. He has been given chance after chance.”

Last evening Frederick came to grief driving home from Marton. His car was in the water-table with the lights full on, and accused asleep at the wheel.
