Taxis v. Trams
A CHRISTCHURCH COMPLAINT
PROSECUTIONS SUGGESTED
(Per Press Association)
CHRISTCHURCH, Last night.
Taxis that compete with the trams on race days are unpopular with the Christchurch Tramway Board. A case was recently reported to
the board where people had refused to board a tram, saying that it was cheaper to ride in a taxi. The board communicated with the City Council and the council has promised that, if particulars are given of taxis carrying passengers for individual fares, prosecutions will be lodged.
