A footballer when he gains representative honours usually likes to keep his jersey as a. souvenir, and no season goes by without a number of jerseys being lost to the Rugby Unions. It is not only among footballers, however, that this occurs. For the New Zealand championship meeting at Wanganui, the Wellington Amateur Athletic, Centre purchased a number of good quality singlets, which were most attractive. They appealed greatly to the members of the Wellington team. Inquiries were made after the championships as to whether they could be bought from the centre, hut all were returned with the exception of two. They had appealed over much. The question was raised of allowing those who gained represent ative honours to keep the singlets they wore as a memento of the occasion, but it was held that their cost" was against this. Tho general feeling of the meeting, however, appeared to be that the competitors should have something. A small badge was suggested, but ultimately a. sub-committee, was ap- ■ pointed to go into the matter.
