Louis Gordon Bowman, aged. 22, residing with his parents in Arthur Street, Blenheim, rose at six o’clock on Sunday morning and committed, suicide by shooting himself with a shotgun in the bedroom, also occupied by his younger brother. Deceased had been in ill-health for some months and was a victim of the prevailing influenza. epidemic. Ho had been suffering from depression. Towards the> middle of October next a party of between 40 and 50 dairy farmers from South Africa willl arrive in New Zealand for the purpose of making a complete tour of the Dominion. The Department of Agriculture is arranging a suitable itinerary to enable them to see as much of farming in Now Zealand as possible. It is expected that the visitors will be able to visit both the Royal Agricultural Show and the Manawatu Agricultural and Pastoral Show to be held at Palmerston North at the end of October andearly in November.
