In the Ring
<t> SMITH BEATS GRIME Australian and N.Z. Press Association. NEW YORK, August 18. At Bridgeport, Connecticut, Grime, the Australian, weighed 128 and Smith 127-1. In the tenth round Smith outpunched G’rime and won the round and the judge’s decision, which was unpopular with the crowd and newspapermen present. Grime, however, showed need for further practice and accomplishment and more effective defence tactics. The fight was fast and bloodless. It was very nearly even, with the consensus of opinion apparently favouring Grime.
