SCHOOL ELECTIONS

LOCAL EDUCATION. HOUSEHOLDERS MEETING. The apathy of householders toward matters educational was made evident last night by the fact that none other than six members of the committee of nine, who wore re-elected unopposed, and the Headmaster, assembled 1 for the annual meeting convened by the Education Board.

An apology was tendered for the unavoidable absence of Mr A. C. Holms.

Mr F. B. Curd, the Headmaster, was elected to the chair, the only business transacted being the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, voting the. customary bonus of £5 5/- to the secretary of the Committee (Mr J. H. Hindman), re-electing Mr W. G. Bryce as chairman, and Mr Hindman honorary' secretary. ONGA ONGA. t At the annual meeting-of the Onga Onga householders, Mr. S. A.Coles, chairman, presiding, the following committee was elected: —Messrs G. A'. Coles, L. W. Simpson, H. P. Kaye,- J. Coles, and G. Bisson, Mr S. A, Colejv was re-elected as chairman, and Mr Simpson secretary'. Messrs Hutt and W. E. Reid did not seek re-election.
