“HOW’S BUSINESS?”
— OPTIMISM ESSENTIAL. “The most di-scussed subject is said to be the weather, very often more cussed than discussed, but it is inevitable that the exchange of remarks in the couse of conversation between business folk leads up to the question “How’s Biz?” If a record were kept of the replies it would show optimists to be in the minority, for how frequently one hears the rejoinder “fair” or “middling” or even “rotten.” Is this to, be accepted as a true state of affairs? But. say you, a retailer cannot grab them into the shop to buy, can he? Certainly. The attraction of a well dressed window is as effective with, the public as the shower of rain is in bringing the old hen’s breakfast within easy reach, and following the illustration, a display of advertised goods is sure to bring results, as the public, has been educated to them and only needs the reminder which the window affords. Remember that advertised goods arc half sold.
