A small boy at a Waikato school was asked to write all he knew about a Ala'yor. This is what he wrote: —“Mayors are people the poles every three years. Their duty is to push the town along' and also tell busi- 1 ’ ncss men when to shut up. They sometimes lay foundation stones. Some mayors belong to the horse tribe, but you spell them differently so they won’t get mixed up. A Lord Afayor is tlie same thing only more stuck up.”
