There is a new tone in the French press to-day in consequence of the despatch from French correspondent’s in London stating that negotiations are about to begin as regards the evacuation of the Ruhr. The reports aiq suggesting the likelihood of a satisfactory result, if France is adequately compensated from an cconmic viewpoint. “Ere Nouvelle” says that by giving the world striking proof of her loyalty in the evacuating of the Ruhr, France would be entitled to ask the. Allies to make a sacrifice regarding war debts and guarantees of security.
