FROZEN MEAT OUTPUT.

..MONTHLY SHIPMENTS FROM .. NEW ZEALAND. Comparative reference to the figures for the monthly export of frozen meat from. New Zealand during the past few years give the following light on the subject. ’ , . Beef figures arc lower for November, December, January, February and •March then they have been since 192021 season. They are higher this year for April then they were in 1922-23 or 1921.22. The figures for May arc higher in all cases except 1921-22., Mutton figures disclose that Janu. -aryi is lower this year than it was in cither .1920-21, 1921.22, or 1922—23. Decemibcr ■returns arc higher than last year, but lower than 1921.22 or .1920-21. The same is true of Fcbru. wry. January has not been so low for four returns. March is higher this year than in 1920-21 or 1922.-23, April this year exceeds 192.1-22 and 1922.23, but is lower than 1920.21. May this year is lower than all others, barring 192122. # Lamb figures assume a more cheering 'aspect. November figures arc higher this season than in 1920-21, 21.22, or 22.23 while December is higher than both j-821-22, and 22.23. January is how ever lower than all others, with the sole exception of 1920.-21. February this year exceeds all the other years. March exceeds 1920-21 and 22.23, but the tally is smaller than the 1921.22 figure. April returns a smaller output than any year except 1921-22. The returns for May indicate a smaller total this year than 1920-21, 21.22, or 22.23. The only month to show an all-round improvement on last year is April, which this year exported 31,558 quar. tors of beef compared with 19,054 last year, 138,522 carcases of mutton as agaisst the 86,198 of last year, and 487,052 carcases of lamb while 1922-23 totals were only 412 974. January of this year is lower than the same month of last year in every .item. The rcspectiv figurs for 1922-23 and 1923-24 arc: —- Quarters of beef 49103 and 1595; carcases of nijutton 139,511 and 120,356; Carcacs of lamb 671,316 and 536,253.
