The “Daily -Mail” states that the death of Major Mallory and Mr Irvine, of the Everest Expedition was foretold by an abbott of Rongbuk, a deformed high Lama credited with the possession of second sight. He warned the porters that any further assault on Everest would be attended by disaster, because though spirit of mountain would, be merciful up to the that time it would wreak vengeance on any future disturbers of its eternal peace.
