MANY FARMS INUNDATED.

SEVEN FEET RISE IN RIVER.

AUCKLAND, This day.

Tc Arolia message reports that the Waihou River over-flowed and many farms are covered with water .

The Shaftesbury bridge and approach in the Gordon district are submerged. At Mungaihi all the low-lying farms are flooded. The river bus 'risen seven feet since Friday and is still rising.

RAIN AT DARGAVILLE.

TRAIN SERVICE STOPPED.

RECORD FLOOD EXPECTED.

The district was visited by another storm -when a high -wind accompanied by rain set in at one o’clock this morning and shortly after nine o’clock developed inito a torrential rtiin* which made the Kaihu river the cause of much damage. The river rose rapidly and at ten o’clock the water in the river was higher in many up line places than in the previous flood and is still rising.

The morning train for Donnelly’s Crossing returned at 10.30 unable to get beyond Manipu, about 15,miles. It is still raining heavily and a record flood is expected as far as the river is concerned, but all depends on thoheight of -the tide how the business portion of the town fares
