SOCCER FOOTBALL.
A BRIGHT DISPLAY. An exhibition of Association footImll wus given on Russell Park on Saturday afternoon, when an interesting game was played between Waipukurau and Whakatn (Hastings). After an evenly-contested tussle the match ended iu a draw neither side scoring. Despite the faet that the loenl team included some veterans, who wore not in good training, a bright display was given. On both sides the forwards lucked combination but the back play was sound. The day’s try o-ut encourages the hope that Waipukurau will bo ahic to put a good team in t.hc field. The visitors wore entertained at luncheon.
