Hockey.
A meeting of hockey enthusiasts was held iu the Fire Brigade shed last evening, and Mr W. Hoult was voted to the chair. It was decided to form a Saturday Club, and to compete under the Dauuevirko Association for the Armstrong Cup. The following officers were elected : —President, Dr Mules ; vicepresidents, His Worship the Mayor, Messrs J. H. Escott, Beau and A. J. S. Thomson : captain, L. H. Little ; vice-captain, W, H. Hoult; secretary and treasurer’, R. Grinlinton. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr H. 0. Wood for a present of shin-pads and ball to the Club. The competitions commence on the 15th inst. in a match between Woodville and Ruahine at Woodville.
The meeting terminated with the usual vote of thanks to the chair.
