OBITUARY.

Mrs J. S. Paterson ; aged 27 years. It is with very great regret that our readers -who knew her will hear of the death of Mrs J. S. Paterson, which occurred at Gisborne yesterday. Mrs Paterson was the third daughter of the late Mr Oradoc Davies and Mrs Davies, and was born in Woodville soon after their arrival hero, being only 27 years of age when she passed away. In her childhood and girlhood she was a great favorite with her Woodville friends. Six or seven years ago she was married to Mr J. S. Paterson, son of Mr Paterson, of Hastings. Since her marriage she has resided with her husband at Uawa Station, Poverty Bay. For about a month past she had been an inmate of a private hospital in Gisborne, and was apparently getting on well. But a relapse came on and overtaxed her power of resistance, and she passed away as stated. She leaves two little daughters to miss her care.
