Mr Poster, Canadian ex-Minister of Finance, speaking against the impression conveyed by. some of Sir William Laurier’s recent speeches that political and fiscal freedom and the power of negotiating treaties should be wrested from Great Britain. Mr Foster maintained that already there was much freedom. Canada could not have absolute autonomy in international relations without declaring her independence. If such talk was serious it was revolutionary.
