Orange Blossoms.

EBBBTT—BARRELL,

A very pretty wedding took place at St. Mark’s Church, Mangatainoka, on Wednesday, when our well-known townsman, Mr A. J. Ebbett, was married to Miss Gwendoline Barrell, daughter of Mr A. Barrell, of Mangatainoka. The church was most beautifully decorated with spring flowers. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. Compton. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful dress of cream nun’s veiling with a bridal veil of tulle worn over a coronet of orange blossoms. The bridesmaids, the Misses Stella and Ruby Barrell, wore cornflower blue nun’s-veiling and large blue chiffon hats with long streamers. They carried baskets of jonquils and camellias. Mr Fred. McCormick, of Woodville, was best man. After the ceremony, a reception was held ia the Library Hall, where a most sumptuous wedding breakfast was laid. Appropriate toasts were proposed and honored. Mrs Barrell, mother of the bride, wore a handsome costume of black rnerveilleux trimmed with jet, the bodice over a vest of heliotrope silk ; Miss Hilda Barrell wore a blue cloth costume with a white chiffon vest, and picture hat of white felt trimmed with white silk; Mrs Thompson (Tiraumea), grey costume with white silk vest, white hat; Mrs Rayner, grey tweed dress trimmed with green, green velvet toque and white furs; Mrs Chatwin, biscuitcolored tweed costume trimmed with brown velvet, brown velvet hat, sable furs; Mrs Wells, green flecked tweed with toque to match; Mrs T. Dray, slate grey costume with fur toque; Mrs Quinlan, black crepe skirt, navy blue rnerveilleux blouse, navy blue toque; Mrs Riley (Woodville), black Valetta silk-trimmed with black silk and beautiful lace, black and white toque. The young couple received a very large number of presents. They left by the express en route to Foxton. In the evening Mr and Mrs Barrell entertained a large party at a dance. A most enjoyable time was spent, and dancing was kept up till nearly 3 a.m.
