THE REV. MR HILL’S REPLY.

[to the editob] . Sir,—ln reply to Mr Hill's letter in your issue of Friday, I would like to refer him to the Gospel according to St. Matthew, chapter ix., commencing at verse 10—

And it came to pass, sis Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto His disciples, Why eateth vour Master with publicans and sinners ? But when Jesus heard that, He said unto them : They that be whole need not the physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will'have mercy and not sacrifice : for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. After reading this he may be more charitable in future, and do the work he professes to do in the true interests of his Master.—l am, &c, S. Bolton. Oete, Mangatainoka, July 27.
