Kumeroa Library Social.

' The social and dance in aid of the Kumeroa library funds was held in the Public Hall on Friday evening. There was a satisfactory attendance, and a most enjoyable time was spent. Mr Mackie occupied the chair, and be as usual was in his element. Mr 0. Drager made an efficient M. 0., and the music for the dancing was supplied by Miss Davies. Several Madies played extras. " During the evening the following " ladies and gentlemen rendered vocal items Mrs Bagley and Miss Gray, duet ‘‘When the wind blowethin from the sea”; Miss Reid, song “ Lulu ”; Miss Mackie, song “ Three green bonnets ” ; Mrs McKay, song The Welsh maid ”; Mr Madill, eong “Davy Jones’ Looker”; and Mr Moore, song “June.” The organisation of the whole affair fell on the shoulders of Mr McGowan, the secretary, and that gentleman deserves a word of prais e for the success of the function. The lands of the library will benefit to a good extent by the social.
