SOUTHERN STOCK SALES. CHRISTCHURCH. Store sheep.—A line of 109 full-mouth ewes sold at 12s 6d, small lots of old ewes 7s2dto 9s 4d; 878 forward wethers. 18s Id, 77 stores 15a 6d, 756 2-ths 18s 4d to 13s 6d, 185 at 12s Bd, 282 at 12s, 115 culls 9s 4d; 239 lambs 9s Id, 241 ewe lambs 11s 6d, smaller lots 8s to 12s Bd. ‘ Fat sheep,—Prime wethers 21s to 24S Id, extra to 25s Bd, others from 17s 6d j prime heavy ewes 17s to 18s 6d, extra to 20s, medium to good 15s to 16s 6d, aged 12s to 14s 6d; good merino wethers 14s 7d to 15s 9d.|

Fat cattte.—Steers made £5 15s to £l2 2s 6d, heifers £4 15s to £7 17s 6d, cows £4 5s to £7 15s, aud one extra to £9. equal to 20s to 21s for prime, 17s to 19s fur medium, and 15s to 16s 6d for cow and inferior, per 1001 b. A good yarding of veal calves sold at 7s 6d to £2 5s aud one extra large sucker £4. Store and dairy cattle.—There was a better demand for good dairy cows, and they sold at £7 10s to £9 2s 6d, and others £8 10s to £7,

Figs.—Baconers made 38s to 45«, and a few heavier to 535, equal to 3£d to BJd per lb; porkers 26s to 80s and up to 84b for heavier, equal to 4d to 4£d per lb; large stores 15s to 18a, medium 9s to 12s Gd, weaners 3s to Bs. DUNEDIN. ' Fat cattle; Extra prime £lO 10s, good £8 to £9 10s, medium £6 10s to £1 15s, light £4: 10s to j£6, cows and beifera £s los to £& 7s 6d, medium £1 18s to £5 15s, light and inferior £2 10s to £4. Fat sheep.—Best wethers up to 35s 6d, good 20s to 22* 6d, medium 17s 6d to 10s, light and inferior 15s. Fat lambs.—Best up to 17s, good 13s 6d to 15s, medium 12s to 13s 3d, light and unfinished 7s to lCs 6d. Pigs.—A fair yarding. Prices were much the same as last week. THE MEAT MABKET. INapier, This day. The C.C. and D. Compuny cable that the frozen meat market is still depressed and a further fall has taken place in values. Mutton Canterbury, 3fd; Napier, Wellington and North Island, Bfd. Lamb—First quality, 4Jd; second, 4£b. Beef—Hinds, 3?d ; fores, 2sd. THE WOOL MABKET. London, May 24. The wool sales closed slightly irregular, though generally at top prices. Ngakonin sold at 13? t d; Okaja, 13*d. At the tallow sales 1075 casks were offered and 625 sold. Prices are unchanged.
