STOCK DEPORTS. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows: At Palmerston on Thursday we hod a fair entry of sheep, and a good demand for all classes. A number of outside buyers were present. Forward wetbers made 17s, 2 and 4 tooth wethers 16s 2d, ewe lambs 12s, wether lambs 10s lid to 11a Id, mixed lambs 10a Id, f.m. ewes in lamb lis Bd. The advertised entry of cattle did not come forward, 300 steers and bullocks beiug detained on the road, and they will be offered next week. Bidding for all classes of cattle was brisk, bullocks especially selling well; 3 and 4yr bullocks made £5 2s to £5 7s; 3yr bullocks £4 13s, 2yr steers £3 4s, fat cows £3 13s, weaners 8s to 13s, small weaners 8s to 13s, small weaners 5s Gd, forward cows £2 10s, dairy cows £4.

Rose reports as follows: — During the past fortnight 1 have held the following sales ; May 17th, Woodville —A small yarding of cattle, consisting chiefly of weaners and pigs, and very few of the former changing hands. May 12th, Dannevirke horse sale— I had an entry of upwards of 150 horses. M. Gohr’s 8 5-horse teams were not sold, the vendor refusing to break the teams, otherwise they would have sold separately, being a first-class lot. Cheap draughts, spring carters, hacks and light harness horses found a ready sale at ruling prices. May 14th, Norsewood stock sale — A full yarding of both sheep and cattle, all of which were practically sold under the hammer. Sheep— Fat sheep, mixed ages, 12s to 13s. Cattle—Fat cows £4 to £4 15s, Syr steers £4 2s 6d, 2 to 2-yr steers £2 10s, springing heifers £4 15s, 18mos to 2yr steers £2 6s, empty cows £2 10s, bulls from £1 upwards. May 18th, Dannevirke stock sale— Three lines of the advertised sheep did not come forward, owing to unforeseen circumstances, but purchasers were found for them at the sale. There was a good yarding of cattle, the quality being on the average exceptionally good. Sheep sold under the hammer. I quote as follows; — Fat ewes 14s 7d and 12a 6d, store ewes (empty) 7s Id. Cattle —Bullocks £6 6s and £5 2s 6d, fat heifers £4 10s to £4 17s, fat cows £5 Is down to £4, Syr steers £8 15s to £4, 2|yr steers £8 3s to £3 15s, weaners up to 18s 6d. Pigs—Porkers 14s to 235, slips 7s 6d. Tho big line of 24 to Syr steers passed in at the sale were afterwards sold at £8 15s. NAPIER WOOL SALES.

Williams and Kettle, Ltd., report oo their periodical Bale of wool, skins, hides and tallow :—A fall attendance of local and two southern buyers insured good business at prices in favor of sellers. Wool and skins showed a substantial rise on previous sales' rate. The following range of prices were realised:— Wool. —Crossbred from 9d to lid, crossbred, fioe, 12|d, crutchings and superior machine shorn, well picked, i B|d to 9d, second 7|d to BJd. Lambs' wool to 10|d, pieces 7d to Bid, J looks s|d to 6d. i Skins. Well woolled crossbred from BJd to 9£d, short wool well saved from 8d to 8f d, merino, inferior 7-£d. Salted from 8s Gd for short wool to 5s lid for recent flaying. Pelts, inferior from lOd to 2s, superior up to 8s Id, lambs', woolled up to 3s 10d. Hides. —Superior ox 5-£d to s|d, medium ox 4|d to s£d, superior cow up others to sd, kip to 4£d, calf 4d to sd. Tallow. —In shipping casks 20s, station packages from 18s to 18s Bd, rough l|d. Horns 2s per 100. LONDON WOOL SALES. London, May 17. At the wool sales the fleece portions of the Brancepeth clip realised 15!d, BS over T, 14d. The Peninsular and Oriental dividend on deferred stock is 7 per cent.
