Wanganui, This day,
The Native Minister returned to Wanganui last night from Jerusalem, on Wanganui River, where he has been discussing with the Maoris the opening up of Native land. He suggested that the Maoris should sell the Whakaihuwaka block of 90,000 acres and the Taumatamahoe block of 40,000, and he offered them a price not less than the Government valuation, which he considered was very reasonable. The scheme was approved by natives, and Captain Mair, native land purchase officer, was left behind to carry out the details aud get the signatures of the Maoris.
